Swimming Skills

Lydia Jumping in the Pool

It took her a couple of tries to get it but once she did she did awesome.

I can't help but be so proud of her.

In the last week Lydia's swimming skills have accelerated to the point now where she will jump in without any help.  She love to jump in and we have to be cautious now because I am sure she would jump in without us looking. My friend, Melody, bought a learning life-jacket for her daughter.  It has inserts that you can pull out as your child gets better with swimming.  She let Lydia try today.  She started swimming  across the pool.   She knew that she was swimming all by herself and she thought it was the best thing ever.  Although she did get tired fast.  I am so proud of her.  She sure is growing up so much.  She has always loved the water. I also had a friend and her five kids come over and swim.  I think it helped that there were other kids that were swimming without their mom.  Lydia wanted to be big just like them.

She has now been potty trained for the last two and half weeks.  She sometimes has problems with making #2 in the toilet and she wakes up in the middle of the night and I help her go to the bathroom. It works out because I usually wake up to go anyway.

Here are few fun pictures of her trying on her Dad's shoes.

She put on the shoes and hat all by herself and the pose is completely genuine too.

We had a busy day.  We also went to lunch in the park.  Lydia love the chocolate milk.  Tonight during prayer time she wanted to thank Heavenly Father for the chocolate milk that she had had earlier.  She gave be the biggest smile after we did that.

We often go to the park with Emma. Lydia and Emma play so well together. The don't really talk much but somehow they communicate and they love to get together.

When Grandma comes to visit

Shoshone Falls with Grandma
Grandma came to visit on Sunday after church.   I told Lydia about half way through the week and she wanted to go to church so she could see Grandma afterwards.  She was so excited for her to come.  She had so much fun with her while she was here.  She didn't want her to leave. On Sunday had a nice dinner and then we went and showed Grandma all the sites.

Lydia liked to point in the pictures instead of pose.

We went to the park in the canyon and walked on to the docks.

Of course we all stuck our feet in the water.  It was such a warm day.

I think Lydia would have gone for a swim if we didn't keep a tight hold of her.

Then we walked behind this waterfall.  Which was pretty cool.  It would have been fun to walk to the bottom of the waterfall to and play in the pools.

Lydia and Dad behind the waterfall.

On Monday morning we went swimming.  Lydia had such a fun time going swimming with Grandma.

She doesn't always wear her life jacket  but when she does she can float by herself pretty well.

We had such a fun time with Grandma. She spoiled us so much by coming to see us.

Happy 4th of July

Lydia's first sparkler.  She lit off quite a few last night.

A Few Poses

This is how Lydia like to eat her Popsicles. I put her in her chair and she refuses to le me put on her tray  so this is how she ends up.

All fancy.  This one was for Grandma.

Swimming Everyday

We go swimming almost everyday. Although dad doesn't always go with us.  We have so much fun soaking up the sun.  Lydia really likes the hot tub.  She likes to jump from hot to cold.  I am not sure why.  She even likes to splash cold water on herself in the bath tub.   She can kick her legs really well and she likes to jump in to mom or dad.  She loves the water.  It is fun to hear her talk about the swimming pool and life jacket
