We are having.........

A boy!! We are excited!  It will be an adventure to have a little boy and try to keep up with two children.  Lydia loves babies.  She is always pretending things about babies.  She says the word baby several times a day.  She likes to rock and dress her baby dolls.   She will be a  good little helper.

Happy Easter!!

We went on a small easter egg hunt.   Lydia enjoyed finding the eggs and towards the end picked out some I didn't even see.

Conference weekend was great.  We enjoyed the talks.  Lydia  can pick out the prophet and enjoyed the music. She would dance to the music. She knew that the speakers were talking and I think that she could tell that we were listening. Towards the end of the Saturday, about halfway through the last sessions, she kept folding her arms wanting to say the prayer and be done.  She is so smart.  She likes to say amen and will often listen to the prayers to know when the end is coming.  It was so neat to hear all the talks on parenthood and motherhood.   It renewed the will for me to do better and to keep a perspective on building an eternal family.

In the last week or so she has learned who Curious George is. When counting to ten she will say the number nine. She right now likes the letter W, and will say it as I sing the ABC's.  She also knows the letter O and E. She is so much fun and keeps us busy and working to be better everyday.  

This Thursday we are so excited to find out if we are having a boy or girl.  It will be fun to know what we are having as long as he or she corporates.

Lydia

Lydia is learning and growing so much. She loves books. She will climb into a chair and will pretend to read them to herself. She has wanted to sit on the potty almost every time I change her diaper.  She hasn't gone on the toilet and doesn't sit there very long. Only a few seconds.  I think once she goes she will get it.  We still need  to get a seat insert, so it is more comfortable to her.  She also will take off or grab her diaper if it is dirty.  Taking it off is not a fun option needless to say.
She is starting to pronounce the end of her words like sock,  dog, milk and fork.  She will accent the last letter hard.  She  is so detail oriented.  She knows all her colors. Lately she has been pointing out characters in books and saying happy or sad based on the expressions.  She noticed the face at the bottom right or the computer and pointed to and said sad.  She is recognizing some of her letters. The O she will point to and say O no.  I said then when I was trying to get her to know the O.
This morning she was eating her French toast and on the last bite she pretend it was an airplane.  "Raaaauuum" right into her month.  She will also pretend she is a puppy.  It is pretty funny.  If she wants a horse ride she will say clop, clop,clop and click her tongue.
We love our little girl who is growing up so fast.

Just Like Dad

Lydia has been wanting to drink out of the milk carton ever time I get her a drink of milk.   It was a bit frustrating because I would tell her,"No," and she didn't understand.  Why!  Dad does it, right?  When I opened the fridge the other day she pulled out the milk.  She took off the lid and then looked at me to make sure it was okay.  At least she asked.  Since there wasn't very much milk left I just let her finish it from the carton.  It sure made her day.  I'm not sure if she will still want to drink out of the carton but I guess we started her young.  The ironic thing about this is that I can only recall Ben drinking out of the carton once or twice in front of her. She sure picks of things fast.  She has flash cards that she got from Grandma Dalton.  She points out Pooh Bear and the other characters and then I show her what color is on the card.  She likes her colors and knows almost all of them.   The cards also have shapes on them.  I didn't even know that she knew any shapes.  She came me with a card about a week ago and pointed to the shape and said circle.  She also drew it  in the air while she said it.  Wow!  I am going to have to stay on my toes with her.  Today she told me which on is a triangle.  Needless to say we are very proud of her.

This picture is a bit blurry.  I posted it because it shows how Lydia likes to dress up.  I want to get her a dress up box full of easy clothes to put on, necklaces (because she likes mine), and bigger but not too big shoes.  It would be something that she would have so much fun with.  She loves to try to put on her pants or another shirt.  She likes her shoes too.  It is so adorable.   She is growing up and learning so much.

A Snowy day

I am finally posting at last.  Lydia and I were able to go outside and play in the snow.  We haven't had snow here for a while.  We do get chances to go outside otherwise, but, although the sun is shining, it is usually windy.  There was not very much wind today which  made it a perfect day to build a snowman.  I brought a carrot outside with us, for his nose of course.  She kept wanting to eat it.  It was her first snowman.   In the last picture I told her to smile. You can see the classic face she gave me. It was fun to see her making the connection to the song, "Once There was a Snowman," and to the pictures that she has seen.  Although it did snow it was a wet snow and she loved to look at the melting snow in the drain pipesl.  The morning was so fun and getting out created a peaceful afternoon because Lydia took a restful nap.

Lydia's first gift to open.  She was only interested for a little while. Then she wanted to go play.

This Christmas was spent with the Dalton Family just outside of Ogden at a cabin.  It was so much fun.  We got to go sledding.  We ate and enjoyed wonderful meals and desserts.  Lydia was able to play with Montanna and got to know Grandma and Grandpa.  We got to see Aubrey for the first time.  She is adorable.  It was so fun to hold her and play with her.  We were very blessed to be able to have a wonderful Christmas.

After Lydia got home I was asking her what Santa Claus says.  She would say," Ho,Ho, Ho and then attempt to say," Merry Christmas."  It is so cute to ask her that.
We came home on Monday the 28th. Packed up our house on Tuesday the 29th and then drove to Twin Falls  the morning of the 29th.  Whew!  Kind of a crazy move,but we are here all in one piece.

Christmas Eve Lydia opened her snowman pajamas.  She loved them she wants to wear them every night.  She will even carry them around like a blanket.

Lydia enjoyed playing with Lesley and Lauren this Christmas.  She warmed right up to them and would love to read books with them.

We had so much fun playing in the snow the day before Christmas.  It was really Lydia's first time playing in the snow this year because Rexburg had not got very much and it was really icy and cold.

 Lydia loved decorating the Christmas tree this year.  She had so much fun with the lights.  She loved to try to plug them in which I did not like.  She also liked the ornaments.  She kept grabbing a snowman ornament and then she would want to sing once there was a snowman.
